Dr. Reefer says he is not a doctor. Instead what Pierre Werner does is shepherd people through the medical marijuana license paperwork from state health division, sort of the DMV of pot. To get the license you need a physician to sign off. Werner can help with that. He is a medical doctor in house, standing by for exams. What do you think about the Dr. Reefer business? Leave a comment below!
Mr. Werner is providing a good educationial service, but should charge fees on a sliding scale for people you do their homework (get the application on their own)and only need to see the doctor at his office. Charging a fee of $150.00 to help fill out some forms is a bit to much for most people on a limited budget.

What he is doing is a good thing. The only problem I see is that he is charging sick people far too much money for a service that I get for free. He should think about how many of his clients fall into a low income bracket and charge accouringly.

Mr. Werner helped me get a card a few years ago. Now I can proceed with my life! It really needs to be legal for everyone though.
NOW, legal cannabis in Nevada, it would bring in the tourists faster than a $19.95 room and $1.95 steak breakfast! We were first to legalize gambling and it created the state. Granted, gambling is more destructive than pot any day. I know, I live here.
Which would you prefer, teachers laided off or no vacancy casinos? Not to mention a new sales tax revenue and NEW jobs created. It would work.

How many people died from drugs prescribed by a doctor? Too many to count! How many people died from marijuana? 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are finally trying to get medical marijuana legal! It helps so many people with illnesses. If some people would open their eyes and see how it helps others then maybe they wouldn't be so against it. Prescription drugs are far more worse than marijuana - count how many people died from prescribed drugs NOT marijuana!!!!

Great going Pierre! I enjoyed our discussion when I came to LV and we had time to visit before they railroaded you into prison.
We are finding out the real truth about marijuana. The fact that the US Government has two patents for marijuana for it's neuroprotective qualities, post-stroke and head injury, Alzheimers, MS, ALS, Parkinsons the list gets bigger all the time. The second patent for it's antioxydant properties to help with autoimmune disease like Rheumatoid Arthritis, IBS, Arthritis, Diabetes, shingles the list gets bigger every day. I have heard it said by researchers that marijuana is best when it comes to pain. Better than any commercial medicine available for Glaucoma and Alzheimer's as the latest research has proven. God's Medicine for sure.
Keep it up Pierre. We shall be free one day.

I moved to Las Vegas for just this reason, Tourettes Syndrom and in 1990 a study was done by Müller-Vahl in Germany, and what was found was that the Toureetes patients when given a Placebo or given .5mg of Cannabis in a double blind study, responded well. The patients that recieved the Cannabis noticed there tics reduces with no side effects.
It has made a big diffence in my day to day functions, I provide a unique skill and am one of the very few in the Valley that can do my job and it tough to work when my mind does not cope with my body. Now keep in mind that I also spent thousands of dollars in doctors visits and "legal" scripts with no luck, so after I found the study I knew I had to move to a State that could help me. I love Las Vegas. and do volunteer to help the local Medical group out and be a good productive citizen.
Thank you for the news story.

As a little girl , I remember my great grand mother makeing her teas out of medicine herbs .... cannibus being one of them....she would use the steams and leaves in her remidies.......she would also make an alcohol rub for arthritis and use this every night.....she always honored the sacred medicine .... the herbs are part of our indigenous cultures and are ancient cures for our people.....my grand mother was a midwife and she too used the old ways.....in my lifetime ...white man law has made following our traditions illegal .... from the use of sacred plants ( cannibus, payoti, pelitre ...etc...)for healing and cerimony to there use as medicine.... this fills my heart with sorrow...our ways and traditions are part of who we are and they may be lost to future generations.....Barbara

Anyone who thinks weed should be 'illegal' or 'regulated' should be immediately shot! There are two types of people on this planet, 'global industrialist', a.k.a. as 'global fascist' who are following the same agenda as the Nazis. So anyone working to 'regulate' or 'prohibit' any drugs, is working for the same forces that mowed down 320,000 U.S. soldiers. Let me say again, anyone who thinks weed should be illegal in anyway, is a nazi. And by nazi i mean someone who is engaging in the rape, torture and murder of humans, animals and the entire planet. I'd be willing to debate anyone in any recorded format. Bring any and all researchers you wish.

I want to thank Pierre again for all his help and guidance. Hemp has a massive stigma attached to it since the 1930s. It wrong. It's drug companies ordering the outlawing, cutting and burning of a medicine the cannot synthesize, compete with, nor profit from.

As someone who has gone full circle on this issue,I now realize what a waste of time and money it is try to prevent the use of marijuana. As a veteran of 26 years and a cancer survivor, I know of the medical benefits of use it if I became sick in the marijuana. Although I do not use it now, I would not hesitate to future. God knows that we have many more useful things to do with our money than trying to stop something that will be legalized in the near future. It's a waste of police man-hours and money that could be used to fight real dangers and threats to our city.

Prohibition didn't work. The war on drugs doesn't work. The government is financing terrorism & drug cartels. Grow up. If you can't stop it. Tax it

I hope Nevadans take advantage of my service as well (www.MCCNV.com)...and while I believe the "Dr.Reefer" image plays towards the negative thoughts of pop-culture society has about cannabis, I still feel that individuals have the right to know about the therapeutic potential of Cannabis...

The states have to wise up! This is real medicine. It helps people who are sick and can benifit the state with taxs. It all is sold anyway. Tax payer benifit? It ties up our courts, police and prison system.

Pierre Werner is not the only office here in Vegas on the west side there is www.mccnv.com office 702-948-5020 Cell 702-366-6860 James. It's on Rainbow near Washington. The biggest reason to use one of the offices is they know HOW to fillout the paperwork & they work closely with the state. People who try to do it on thier own tend to get set to the side & have taken up to a year to get the card. These guys can move that process along to about 45 days most times.

In response to the Medical Marajuana sign. "It's the Bees Knees"!! Best thing since sliced bread! Wake up Nevada, step into the best thing on the planet! Perhaps we can all enjoy life! Without the fear of arrest!

I don't know why anyone would go to him and pay a fee to have him get you a card. You can do it yourself on line...as long as it is ok with your doctor.

Pierre Werner is providing a useful service because the State provides no-way for patients to aqcuire this beneficial drug. However, the laws for medical cannabis need to be modified so that patient's can more easily access cannabis for their health conditions. By doing so, the State could take in millions in revenue to help ease the fiscal crisis that we find ourselves in.

There is not a lot of imformation out there on this, This guy provides a service, should anybody want to try marijuana as an alternative treatment, since by law it is not illegal to apply for a license to use medical marijuana, and a wide variety of ailments qualify, try and get any useful imformation, especially your legal rights off the department of health website, they tell you to contact an attorney, so this guy is providing a useful service to the community, that quite frankly no one else has the guts to do!

Finally someone in Las Vegas to assist in the process of being within the laws of Nevada and obtaining relief from another form of medication that can help people, without turning to a stronger form of narcotic that is proven to be habit-forming. This may be an alternative that may be just right for some. Nature provided. Let's be open to alternative medicines.

I think its a great new business. Maybe the state will wake up & realize Marijuana is a great pain killer & very helpful to many people. We need dispenseries like in California, they raise a lot of taxes, we don't need one on every corner, but maybe a total of 50 for the city? We have over 100 McDonalds & that food is really bad for us!!
