Andre Agassi's new book hit store shelves Monday and he was in Las Vegas to promote it. The book's title is Open. Agassi stunned his fans when he admitted in the book to using crystal meth in the late 1990's. He also talks about his failed marriage and his very strained relationship with his own father, who pushed him to play a game that he didn't always like to play.
When asked about being a role model and whether or not his fans would be disappointed with the truth, he said that was something he had to come to terms with and not being open like the title of his book wasn't an option. What do you think about the revelations from his book?
I think that Andre needed to go through this as he has every stage of his life. For those who keep bringing up the advance on the book, what garbage!!! How much does Andre have to give to charity and support the community? What else does he owe Las Vegas? I admire his candid approach to this - I remember seeing Andre out and about in the 90's - he seemed very lost at that point, look at what he has been able to accomplish. We should be supporting him, not beating him up - as for the other athletes that are making comments, I suspect none of them has a totally clean house...

Let's stop celebrating an admitted drug addict, game fixer for a minute and realize the fraud he truly is.
He's nothing more than your common cheat and this book will open many eyes to see what kind of "hero" Agassi really is

Who hasn't used drugs in the sports field? Who cares??? It was years ago, and is old hat. Agassi had to confess to something to sell the book. Let's report the news on something new and relevant to today like pushing the President to get jobs out here for us!!!!!!! Let's ask how people who have no jobs but will now be required to have insurance (under his new medical plan) are supposed to pay for it?? Now they'll have to choose where the money goes...a roof over your head, food to feed the kids or the medical insurance premiums!!! Enough on Agassi...he's been in the news for 5 days now.
